Oh my Goodness- One Month Til Lucketts!

Well, now we are just 30 days away from the Lucketts SPring Antique Market, May 30 & 31. Time is flying, paint is flying everywhere, and I need a vacation! Luckily, my family and I are headed to the beach Friday for a whole week of sand, surf, ice cream, and some good reads! I have been working like a fiend, trying to make sure I have lots of new and exciting items come the last weekend of May.

This week's featured item is a sweet little vintage bookcase I bought at The Barn Sale ( check them out at thebarnshow.com). It had such sweet lines and curves and was just begging to be painted! I painted it my favorite shade of white from Sherwin Williams, and painted the inside a soft seafoam green. Use it for books, or use it as i have mine in my dining room- to display some of your favorite dishes and treasures. Wouldn't it look sweet filled with jars of seaglass and other beach treasures?

Crumpton Finds!

I went to Crumpton last week and got some great new pieces- lots of tables (including a pair of vanity nightstands that we all love!), a cute little chair, some smaller pieces, and an old washstand that was a little dilapidated that now serves as my end table in my family room. It had old dirty paint on it, and was missing the doors it once had. I removed the post down the middle that had latched the doors, and freshened it it with some serious Lysol action, and a new paint job. It has been primed and painted white, and the inside I painted a soft sage green, and gave it some new green glass knobs. It fits perfectly in our family room!

Just 39 Days Left!!!

This piece used to be part of an old Victorian etagere that dated to the 1850's (I purchased it from a man whose family originally owned it). It was coming apart from years of being stored, so I took it apart and made it into 2 pieces. Last year I sold the top piece as a wall mounted shelf at Lucketts Spring Antique Market, so I figured I would save the bottom half for this year! It has been painted black and lightly distressed and has a fabulous gothic look to it. It would make an awesome entry table or hall table! See you in 39 days!

Check out this adorable dining hutch, painted white and distressed, the inside is painted a lovely lettuce green, and it has chicken wire doors for a more primitive feel. The best part- this is only one piece of an entire dining set!!! Hope to see you in 53 days!

We are happy to announce that we will once again be participating in the Lucketts Spring Antique Market May 30 & May 31, 2009 at the Old Lucketts Store! We will have the same space we had last year- first spot on the right when you enter! We are excited to be taking part in such a great show with our personal favorite antique shop, where good finds are a-plenty.
