Mod Podge to the Rescue!

A couple months back I bought an adorable table that used to be part of a vanity for $10. This style of table is one of my absolute favorites, not to mention they fit in tight spaces nicely! It was not so cute when I bought it- it had been painted a maroon/brown and an ugly rough fabric had been loosely stapled to the top. I thought I took a before shot, but my camera must have deleted it from the records as it was just too hideous.
I painted it in one of my favorite shades of blue, distressed and antiqued it, and changed the top knob to crystal was happy with the outcome.
Then I took it with me to the Lucketts Spring Antique Market, and hid it in the back of our space and it didn't sell the first day. Then it poured that night, and the next morning badly enough that the veneer on the top of the table was bubbling and looked awful. I took it home with me, thinking I would scrape off the top and repaint it. But after redoing the playroom this past weekend, I thought it would be perfect beside the couch in there. It's a sleeper sofa as the room doubles as a guestroom. The table would be perfect to serve as a nightstand for guests, and it just so happens we have visitors 2 weekends in a row starting in a week! I decided to scrape the top (which was the hardest part of this process)....

and use some MOD PODGE to add some fun paper (found at Michael's on clearance for .29 per sheet!) to the top that would also tie in all the playroom colors. I cut the pieces to fit and followed the MOD PODGE directions, and now the table looks like this....

Perfect for the Playroom/Guest room!

Very cute! I love how colorful and fun this is now. Maybe the bubbling paint was a happy accident!

Hey Cassie. That's so cute. Love the shape of that table (we don't get many - if any - like that here).
Oh, and about my new blog look, thanks for your lovely comment. I'm sorry to say there's really no quick fix though. It took me ages just to work out the simple changes I made. Your blog is cute as anyway!
