Becky's Baby's Dresser

Becky was looking for a dresser that could be used as a changing table for her baby (Coming January '11!). I had just picked up this guy from craigslist for $30... including the fantastic huge mirror which will be painted at some other time.

Becky send me some pictures of the decorative accents that would be in the room- lots of fun and playful colors. We settled on "Reflecting Pool" by Sherwin Williams. I got right to work, painting, distressing, and antiquing, and here is the dresser for Becky's bean!

And yes, I know I promised how-to's. My little one goes back to preschool next week and I will have more time. I feel like I need to really concentrate and out everything into those types of posts, rather than just showing you some fun pictures like I am now! So it's a-comin'. Good things come to those who wait!

Adorable! Does your hubby help you pick up your craigslist finds, or do you do it on your own?

Gorgeous, great colour. I love when you can reuse the hardware, no filling and sanding!

Love this color too. You are doing wonderful with the special orders. I love redong garage sale furniture but have yet to figure out how to get them sold. (we live in an very poor county) Thanks for the continued inspiration.

Ohh, I love it!! Of course, I love all of your stuff. I need to check Craigslist more often I guess. I'm always seeing these great deals that bloggers get, but I never see anything that's in pretty good shape AND cheap! :-)

It looks great, Cassie! I love the lines and detail on this piece. What a fun color for a baby nursery! I like that hardware. That's the same hardware that was on that soft aqua dresser I sent you a photo of. Nice job as usual!

Hi Cassie, Great dresser in a fabulous color! Reflecting Pool is definitely on my list of colors to try. I'd love to see the nursery when it's finished. Best wishes to Becky and her baby!

It's beautiful. I am so in love with that color! And the combination of the antique hardware with the updated color looks fantastic. What a lucky little baby that will have this one-of-a-kind piece of furniture in their nursery!

I don't know how you do it! You are just cruising through these dressers! I love your vintage flair. This is a beautiful color. Love the original hardware. I guess I just love it!

Cassie, I just painted that dresser's cousin! It is exactly the same style, just smaller, and for a baby girl. Don't you just love the lines? I love the color you chose!

You crack me up with how nonchalant your about taking curbside garbage and ugly furniture and turning it into stunning pieces. I'm constantly scrolling from the last photo to the first going, "Okay, this is NOT the same dresser! It CAN'T be!" This is another one of those times.

Lovely! I ALMOST got that same dresser for my daughter but someone beat me to the punch! Now I'm feeling even MORE like I missed out.

You can't beat the quality of old furniture. That dresser is Mahogany which is an endangered wood and can hardly be acquired now.

Very cute! I'm hoping to do something similar for our new baby (also coming January '11!). We desperately need a new dresser, and it will double as a changing table. I can't wait to see the how-to for this!

WoW! Gorgeous!!

You have Inspired me...I have a 1960's china hutch sitting in the garage because Hubby hates it. I'm thinking he might change his mind if I update it with a little paint, like this Beauty of yours:)
