Piece of Work Wednesday Link Party!

Hello party people! Hope you are all having a good week! Mine was going well until my son told me he wanted to go find a "new mommy" because I had already poured his juice in one cup and he didn't want that cup. And in a weak and overtired moment I suggested that perhaps his beloved stuffed wolf needed a new mommy, too. I am a little embarassed that I just told you all that. Don't judge me. Sigh. Moving on, I have been working on a couple pieces for Jessica again. The colors in her family room are based off of a gorgeous Anthropologie pillow in whites, grays, greens and a hint of yellow. The dresser I am about to show you is going to be on one side of her couch as an end table. Here it is in the not-so-before stage (what can I say? I forgot to take a before!).

It was just your basic plain wood dresser, but it had the forbidden (at least according to me) double knobs on each side! At one time it had 3" pulls, but those had been replaced with knobs which filled each hole. On this petite 3 drawer dresser, there were 12 knobs! If you've been following me for a while, you know this is a pet peeve of mine. I convinced Jessica that we should fill holes, and use a single knob on each side. Phew! She wanted it painted in the Peppercorn color I have used before from Sherwin Williams, and I suggested some fun green knobs to accent the pillows nicely. Here is the result!

So, what have you been working on? Remember, furniture projects only please!

So cute Cassie. The green knobs were an excellent touch. Where did you get those adorable knobs by the way? Thanks for hosting!

Oooohhhh, so cute! And I love the green knobs instead of a pull (or double knobs, of course!). It will be so cute as an end table next to the couch. I love using furniture in ways other than their original purpose! Can't wait to see what everyone else links up.

And don't beat yourself up over the whole mommy thing...I'm sure we've all said things we regret in our impatient moments. The good news is, I'm sure our kids don't remember (at least that's what I'm hoping :)

I love this color combination! I've been looking for a color to paint a dresser and nightstand for my son. It just might be Peppercorn.

I had to laugh at your story about your son. My little nephew just told my sister the same thing, that he wanted a new mommy because he got upset over something so little. Love the dresser! Great color combo and adorable knobs. I like the basic wood dressers because they are so fun to transform and dress up.

We have all had moments like that with our kids. No judging here.

Love the dresser. Double knobs are also a pet peeve of mine. I'd rather see a handle. But I'm loving the green knobs. I just picked some up on clearance at Marshalls in a green. Need to find something for the knobs now!

I love it! I saw knobs similar to those at Hobby Blobby and I sooo want to use them on something! I was thinking a pale green or yellow or pink, but that BLUE is amazing with it. I hate filling in holes, I can never get them flat. Got any tips?

Thanks for hosting!

Cassie~ I would almost hate to meet someone who had never had a conversation like that with their child! Haven't we all?? (if we're being 'real' that is!)
Love the dresser, especially with the knobs. You do a gorgeous job on everything you touch.

I have said it before, and I'll say it again...you are a paint color genius! Did I spell that right? The dresser is beautiful. Anyway, we've all had those weak moments as mothers, and that little boy knows you love him more than life :)
