I started with these boxes which I made for a craft fair....
They didn't sell so I decided to use them to wrap teacher gifts. I had planned to bake cookies for them, but then changed gears and rolled with the sheet music theme.
I bought a bag of these little glass round gems from the dollar store (36 in the bag):

and mod podged sheet music to the back of each. Then I glued a magnet on each. Easy Peasy, and they made cute little magnets, and what teacher can't use those?
I found a box of 16 little candles in glass for $7.99 at Marshall's, so just about 50 cents per candle! And they smell so lovely!
I used more of my sheet music, and tore strips to fit the height of the candle.
Then I went ahead, ripping all the pieces I needed, and trimmed off the excess after testing on each jar.
Here is the dry run.... wrapped and trimmed.
Ready to be Mod Podged!
I used a foam brush to apply Mod Podge to the back of each paper strip, and then pressed the candle down onto the paper til it stuck and picked up the paper. Then I continued to wrap the paper around as smoothly as possible.
I applied a few more coats of Mod Podge, and here are all the candles, reay to go!
I nestled the candles inside the boxes which were filled with shredded sheet music, and placed the magnets in a cellophane bag in the center.
And now I am ready to bring glad tidings to my son's teachers!

Lucky teachers!! I'm off to Marshalls and the dollar store ... any left?
I think Kellen's music teacher would love both (she's also getting the little music box I couldn't sell at my craft fair!)
That is a very sweet and thoughtful gift for the teachers! You've packaged it beautifully! There was a reason those did not sell at the fair. Meant to be for the lucky teachers! What a fun gift!
I was eyeing those boxes at the craft fair but couldn't figure out where I would put them! What great gifts! The teachers are going to love them!

What a great idea! (As I bow my head in shame over my $10 starbucks giftcards.)
SO Cute! What a great idea.
Looooove the magnets! What a great idea! :)
SO adorable and I'm always looking for good teacher gifts. Thanks for your sweet comment on the chalkboard...I'm sure you did get your fill from a whole wall...but I bet it was awesome. have a good day, friend! -shaunna :)
Cassie; I'm still sucked into your blog! OMG I LOVE this idea! I ALWAYS made teacher gifts WITH my kids rather than the group gift because I feel it needs to be from them, not my checkbook (and even if they only help a little bit, like stick the magnets on, they will feel they 'made' something for their teachers). My wheels are so spinning after seeing your sheet music ideas. We are a very musical family and this year will be a 'tight' Christmas so I'm trying to figure out what to do for extended family gifts and this is just perfect! We could even do what you did to those wooden round boxes to shoe boxes! We could even buy earthy colored candles and soak the shreds of sheet music in tea (and dry) before applying for an aged look and then a simple twine bow around it! Thank you SO much for the inspiration! I'm so truly inspired and will not only follow you but I'm going to stick you on my 'favorites' list on my sidebar (which I DO NOT do for many unless they do it for me first or I truly really love the blog!)

Ok, I love this gift! What a lucky teacher to have your child in their class. And just so you know, I am totally stealing this idea!!!
You know I'm loving it. Thanks for linking it up and for your sweet comments on the entryway! -shaunna :)
Those little candles are great. I love sheet music projects.
Fantastic! I have some musicians in the family that would just love the theme, but then again, anyone who has a thing for sheet music would love it as well! :>
I totally love it! They are beautiful! You are so great!
This sings to me (ha!) Sheer perfection...it looks chic and expensive and is just gorgeous!
Your son's teachers will be thrilled with their one of a kind gift! I love old sheet music too and so far have only used it for shred...thanks for the "outside of the box" ideas:)
What a wonderful collection of homemade gifts! I'm a sucker for vintage sheet music and absolutely love the way that you carried the theme throughout the gifts! I'm so glad I stopped by from Tickled Pink! Warmest wishes, Jenn
