Piece of Work Wednesday Link Party Number 18!

Welcome back to Piece of Work Wednesday!  For those of you newbies, POWW is where we get together and share our FURNITURE makeover.  It can be something refinished, painted, reupholstered, or even a piece you built; but it has to be furniture!
Today, my family room looks like this:

see that nice dark strip of dirt.... mental note to steam clean and rearrange area rug!
and my playroom looks like this:

my kids made me a play-doh cake and sang happy birthday to me.... maybe they sensed my agitation at this chaos!
We are getting the family room drywalled (it had faux wood paneling that we had painted).  I can't wait for it to be finished- we are getting new crown molding as well, and of course a new paint treatment and perhaps a new furniture piece will be added to the mix, and maybe some older furniture will be redone. (wink, wink).
But for now, I have a little table to show you.  I am working on the dresser that went with it now (which will be a different bold color!).  I bought the nightstand and dresser for $30 and they are Thomasville faux bamboo, perfect for bold and glossy.

it does have a drawer, i promise!
I went through my paints, looking for inspiration and came across a glossy bold blue by Benjamin Moore called symphony blue.  I used a tinted primer (also a Benjamin Moore product) and then gave it a few coats of the blue, and a new glamorous sparkly knob, and voila!  FYI, it was very hard to get a good picture of it for some reason.  I hope you get the idea.  It looks very beachy regency (if that was a style) to me and would look great with golds, whites and blues.

So what have you guys been up to?  As always, remember the rules!

Cassie, that it gorgeous! I was thinking "faux bamboo - yuck". But it really works when painted blue. I'll have to check out that color at BM.

Cassie, that blue is just perfection! We are on the same page once again...I found some bamboo nesting tables at Value Village the other day! This post got me excited about re-doing them. :)

I'm loving faux bamboo at the mo. Trying desperately to convince my Mum to try it in her beach house though she's not feeling it. Good luck with your house mini-remodel.

Oh my gosh, I had that same Thomasville style 9 drawer dresser that I picked up on the side of the road. I painted my black.
LOVE it!

I like the blue "Beachy Regency" piece! Very nice! Great blue and the "glam" knob is a nice touch. Was it really your birthday today or were your kids just playing?
