Piece of Work Wednesday Link Party Number 24!

First of all, Happy Birthday, Mom!!!  We love you!

I found this little nightstand at my local Goodwill a few weeks ago for $10.

It had ugly brown paint that was worn, and was just very dirty looking.  The picture above shows it after I had sanded it, but you get the idea.  I wanted to just clean it up and freshen it up, so I went with a warm semigloss white, Sherwin Williams Greek Villa.  I first gave it two coats of primer, then 3 coats of paint.  I planned on giving it a bright or funky knob, but nothing I tried seemed right.  It had originally had a chunky wooden knob.  I looked into my stash and tried a more classic approach, and loved the look of the one it currently wears.  Here it is now... a very simple makeover, but I am happy with it!

I SWEAR I bought a nightstand EXACTLY like that last year and it was that same ugly brown. They must have been sister nightstands at one time and one made its way up to CT. LOL!! I painted mine a very pale pink. I think I sold it at the flea market...Can't really remember. Anyway, I love the classic clean lines you gave that piece. The pull is perfect too!

Take care,
Lisa

I miss painting furniture, I don't have a good spot to paint inside the house. Nice little makeover!

I know I say this all of the time, but it never ceases to amaze me what paint can do. Love all of these transformations...so nice that you have these link parties. I have a back log of stuff I need to paint...have no place in the home to paint, so have to wait for better weather! Take care, Danielle
