Piece of Work Wednesday Furniture Link Part Number 38!

Hi all! Do you remember yesterday when I told you I was painting a dresser the same color as my new yellow front door?  You don't?  OK, good.  Because it didn't happen.  Well, it happened, but a slight miscalculation took my yellow dresser from being happy and cheerful to being this stripped monstrosity...
Do you like the gray drawer?  I got really bored with stripping and decided to see what it would look like with gray stain.  I don't like it so it will be getting a totally new to be decided treatment. And hopefully I can finish stripping it so I can reveal it in 2012.  Every time I strip a piece I remember why I don't like doing it.  What a pain!!!

So stay tuned... maybe I will have something to show you later this week.  After today, I am not making any promises.  So what have you been up to! Can't wait to see your pieces.... I need some inspiration today.  All this stripping has got me feeling uninspired.

Here are the rules!
1. Link to your permalink for the post- not a general blog link.
2. Must be a follower.
3. FURNITURE revamps or builds only!
4. Include my button in your post or sidebar.
5. No etsy shops!
6. Your project must be new here!  It is ok if it is an old project, but this must be the first time you are linking it here.

OK, people, inspire me!!!

Vintage verging on antique pine with lots of living.

I've got one in my bedroom, bought it back east in about 1976 or so. Canad1ana and it was old then. I can see that mine was stripped way back when - bits of cream in the cracks and crannies. Decorated by ds with suntan cream at one time.

Looking forward to seeing what you do with the dresser.

Boo to stripping!! Sorry to hear you had a rough time with the dresser! When did you switch to a pop up comment window?

No furniture this week but I did see a tip on TV awhile ago about stripping. Basically, lather it on, cover it in plastic (like cheap drop cloth plastic) and leave it for 4 hours or even overnight if the paint is really thick. The paint should come right off with a scraper. Haven't tried it but seems worth a shot.

Cassie--does a mirror count as furniture? I just did one similar to one you did a few weeks ago :)

Bummer! Sorry the yellow dresser didn't pan out. Don't give up and ditch it by the curb like I would, ha ha!!!

You are so funny changing your mind like that. Now the anticipation of what you are going to do is getting to me!

Hmm...I haven't done any furniture over the past couple of days. I'll have to look and see if I have something I haven't linked to your parties yet...Or, I could be patients and just wait until tomorrow when I do my new post...

Take care,
Lisa

Stripping is just not fun, especially in the garage!

Are you by chance having problems leaving comments??!! I can't on certain blogs for some reason. We'll see if this works! It's been going for about a week! Also, I can't 'follow' anyone because the link isn't there.
Are you having those problems??

p.s. like your little dresser, it'll be adorable I'm sure!

Hoping the built-in-bar counts... it's not a standing piece of furniture, but when cocktails are involved, EVERYTHING GOES!

Cassie, I JUST saw that you picked my tree house as the winning project over at CSI! Thank you so much! I have entered many times during my one year of blogging and I am so excited that this project won! Our family worked so hard together and it was the best experience! I really appreciate it! I just posted a 'Great Outdoors' Birthday party for my son which was centered around the tree house! Stop by if you have a chance! Thank you again! Christie at Three Pixie Lane
