I am so excited today to introduce you to Anne from Hello Newman's. Anne has beautiful, clean style, and uses fabulous colors. I have only recently "met" her, but fell in love with her home, her sweet disposition, and her beautiful one month old! :) I asked her if she would share her dining room today because it. will. knock. your. socks. off.
Enjoy!
Hi, there! I'm Anne from Hello Newman's. I am thrilled to be guest posting on Cassie's blog today - isn't she the best?
When she suggested that I write up a little post about our dining room, I giggled thinking about all of the changes that we have made in that room over the past year. We started with what I like to call a "blank canvas". I think that is a nice way of saying it desperately needed help.
For me, the biggest challenge was to create a space that was a reflection of us - but not spend much money. After like a bazillion steps, here is where we are today...
So where did it all begin? Well, first things first. We painted the room. I guess I should say that Christopher painted it. The ceilings are like a million feet tall (ok, more like 20ft). But still - SUPER TALL. The paint color is Dark Ash by Behr.
And here's a funny but true story. When I was 8 months pregnant (which was like 2 and 1/2 months ago), I woke up one morning and decided to start ripping molding off of our dining room wall. With a kitchen knife and screwdriver. Seriously.
I thought we needed more space for pictures and that higher molding would look really nice. My husband called me that day to check in and see what I was up to. When I told him how easy the original molding came off with a knife, he begged me to stop and wait for him to get home. I can't imagine why. Ha.
Here is a snapshot of the work in progress (don't mind my daughter running around in her swim diaper).

We found this adorable little piece at a local thrift store - I just painted it with a mixture of random paint from our garage.
Super cute Dwell Studio tablecloths from Target worked perfectly as curtains...Love that these required ZERO sewing - I literally just hung them on curtain rod clips.
For the table, I spray painted some old chargers silver...added white plates from the Dollar Tree, and used a 4 pack of napkins from Target (cut in half). Pretty inexpensive place settings.
Rub'N'Buff - Need I say more? Didn't even have to take the old brass chandelier down. I literally stood on a ladder and "painted" it silver.
So what's my favorite part about the room now? Without a doubt - THE FAMILY PICTURES! I love having lots of space for memorable moments - the day we got engaged, our wedding, pregnancy, and of course - our sweet babies.
And there you have it! The evolution of our dining room. Thanks, Cassie, for having me today!

As I scrolled down I literally made mental notes for each idea I want to copy...the wall color is gorgeous and I love it paired with the yellow accents. The new sew curtains are awesome, and I'm totally stealing the rub n buff chandelier idea. Heading over now to see more of Annie's blog!
Your dining room is beautiful! I also have used tablecloths as curtains...couldn't be any easier!
wow ... what a breath-taking after! She is so very, very talented {you had better believe that I am hopping on over to her blog next to see what else is in store!} I adore the touches of mustard mixed in with the grey {quite possibly the BEST color combo ever!}. But, the shinning star to me is the shelf molding ... perfect for displaying all of those wonderful memories!

What a great transformation to your dining room! I love the colors. I did the exact same thing with rub n buff to my chandelier! Love it!
That's looks so amazing. It reminds me of a super old issue of Martha Stewart decorating a mantle. I love all the photos along the shelf.
Wow, I love the combo of yellow and grey together. The yellow frame and the cab meld so well. Aren't husbands great for painting?! Andrea @ townandprairie
Your dining room looks fabulous. I am loving the way you incorporated the yellow from the cabinet by painting a few of your pictures mats the same color. It makes the room look pulled together without being matchy-matchy. Great job!

Oh my gosh!!! Your dining room is amazing!!! I love it:)
I came across Anne's dining room recently and was completely wowed. I've been crushing on board and batten recently, and I love how tall hers is and that it can be used to lean frames. The color combo is lovely too.
