I told you all I would know something about the house we offered on yesterday. Well, we heard back and were shocked to find they wanted to settle on October 31. After some further digging by our agent we discovered there is a lot more behind the story, and at this point in time, I don't know what will happen or if we even want to be under contract I cannot share details, but I am just hanging on to hope that it works out or something else comes on the market. Nothing has in a couple of weeks, so I just don't know. Last night I was pretty heartbroken, but I am trying not to be. I am trying to stay hopeful. I just wanted to fill you in since some of you have asked and I don't want to leave you hanging though I really don't have any answers.
Oh, and you may have noticed a new button in my sidebar. No? This one....

Let's move onto POWW faves! There were tons of links this week to look through! I hope you were able to visit many of them as there are so many beautiful projects. Here are the ones that really caught my eye.
This vanity from Sweet Song Bird is beautiful! I loved the classic shape and colors, juxtaposed with the fun pattern on top.

This desk from Kammy's Korner is so fun, too! Again a desk with an awesome graphic treatment!
This script dresser from Once Upon A Farm caught my eye a well as everyone else's! It was the most clicked on project!
And lastly...this dresser from Prezidential Life is a classic beauty. What is not to love?

Alright, people! Enjoy your weekend! If you are in the East like me, stay safe and stay indoors! Hopefully we will maintain power and it won't be too long before you hear from me again.

gorgeous features! loving the classics as well as the more mods.
I hope you guys are safe and not without power this week. I'm so sorry to hear about your house. It's so stressful. I will pray that the absolute perfect place will open up and you guys will have a smooth move in. Have a great weekend!
Hi Cassie,
We're hunkering down here as well and I'm actually looking forward to staying inside! I've been running around too much and sometimes it's nice to be forced to just slow down and stay put - especially when there is wine in the house!
Hang in there with the house. I swear every home purchase is loaded with drama!
Wonderful features! The bar is getting really high out there in blogland!
We were in Manassas for Isabel so I feel your pain. Stay safe and hopefully the power outages won't happen. Keep your chin up on the house. God will provide. many prayers coming your way!

Sorry to hear that things aren't moving quickly with the house. I hope everything works out for you. Stay safe during this storm. I also have a stock pile of wine since I know we will be w/o power.
Hi Cassie,
Praying that you make it through the storm victorious. Both the hurricane, and your housing situation. Great features.

Hang tough!! We got lucky with this storm in Southeast Florida. Even the outer bands turned my pool furniture over and knocked down my trellis arch. Make as much ICE as you can. If you lose electric, it will keep your food safe for a day.
Love all of these features - so beautiful!
Cassie we're ready for Irene here near NYC. Yes we too will probably loose power for some time so manual labor will be in full form - painting and sawing the old fashioned way! Be safe.
so, as I write the wind is starting to whip here by the Bay...no big waves yet, though. I hope you hear something soon about the house...it's hard to be in limbo and stressful, too. Enjoy your wine! I'll toast to you when I enjoy mine.
Oy, I hope you guys don't lose power! So far we have a little rain here, but not too bad. I hope the wine helps get you through the weather and the house stress!
I hope all goes well with your offer on the house. There is so much going on in the real estate market right now I would hate to have to sell or buy.
As usual I enjoyed POWW. Thank you for hosting such a nice party.

Love the featured furniture..will look at them more closely. Be safe. We are also awaiting Irene. Bottle of cabernet ready. good luck with house too..if it does not work out there is another better house out there that is for you.
Oh no! Not another glitch! Hang in there, in the not too distant future, this will just be a distant memory! Pour yourself a glass of wine and stay safe!
I do a lot of work with painted furniture. These pieces gave me some great ideas for a jumping off point. Thanks for the inspiration and for commenting on my raspberry pink oak commode piece.

Hope all is well in your little corner of the world! Keep your chin up with the house~the right one will come to you!
Hi Cassie, hoping you and your family fared well through Irene! Last year after all the highs and lows of selling our house and finding a new one, we finally looked at houses to rent, and the day we were going to commit to this awful run down shack for a year, our realtor heard a house was coming on the market in our price range. We went to see it (a diamond in the rough) at 10am, came back with my in-laws at 5pm, and had an offer in by 6....and here we are today! It's amazing how things work out. I know the perfect new home is out there for you!
I'm sorry to hear about the house. Is it worth waiting for? If it is, I hope things go faster. If not, another better house is just waiting for you and your family. Hang in there!
