Friday Guest: Andrea from Oak Ridge Revival

I am so excited today to have Andrea from Oak Ridge Revival.  Andrea is one of the bloggers I have come to know more recently, and instantly liked her.  She is warm and thoughtful, and boy does she have a beautiful, classic style!  Just wait til you see the changes she and her husband made to their home coming in her post!  For now, I want to share a couple photos of some of my favorite rooms in her home.
Her daughter's room...

And I love this area of her living room with those fabulous chairs she scored!

Anyhow, I will let Andrea wow you on her own with her talents!  And thank you, Andrea, for helping me out during my craziest week! :)

I was beyond thrilled when Cassie asked me to guest post.  She is one of the sweetest, kindest, most
genuine people I have met during my blogging career.  Okay, career might be stretching it for me.  How about my blogging hobby.  Anyway, I'm so excited Cassie is going to be able to put her creative touch on a new home.  Since she is busy moving this week, I thought I would put together a post about some of the  stylish, yet savvy changes we made to our home.

Let's start with bathrooms.  Our dream home (aka "The Money Pit") ended up with a four full bathrooms and one powder room.  Our master bathroom was previously a small bedroom.

Here is what it looked like before.

And here it is now.  Looks a little different, doesn't it?

This bathtub is my favorite part, even though I only use it every once in a while.
It's where I go to escape!

Okay, I admit, this wasn't the savviest of projects, but we did search high and low for great deals on tile and fixtures.  The Tile Shop is a great resource for reasonably priced tile and Signature Hardware has unbelievable prices on tubs and faucets.

Now on to the more savvy projects.  The bathroom our boys share was in major need of an update.  However, our renovation budget did not allow for a complete overhaul of the space.  We were able to give the bathroom a whole new look with a few minor changes.  Here is the bathroom before we purchased the house.

And here it is after making the minor changes.  We simply replaced the vanity and toilet,
added new faucets, a painted mirror and a new shower curtain.

Our daughter's bathroom was another space that we originally thought would need a complete overhaul. But again, wasn't in the budget.  With the power of paint, we were able to transform this room too.

Here it is before...
Not so pretty, is it?

And after having the tile walls painted, adding a new vanity, faucet, mirror and light, here it is.....

Every square inch of of the house was renovated in some form or fashion,
but the kitchen is where we spent the majority of our budget.
We have no intentions of ever moving from this house,
so we wanted to make sure we did things right from the get go.

Here is a shot of the kitchen before we purchased the house.
It was a small space with tons of tile (even on the ceiling).

Just next to the small kitchen was a very large dining room. (That's my husband pretending
to be Vanna White).  We decided to flip-flop the spaces and put the dining room where
the kitchen was and move the kitchen to the large dining room.

Here is the kitchen now.

And here is the informal dining room (where the kitchen used to be).

Renovating our home was definitely a labor of love and I really enjoyed the whole process.  We moved into our home two years ago and while all the major renovations are behind us, I do love making small changes and I am constantly rearranging things.  Come on over and check out all of the other before and afters from the renovation process.

Cassie has such great style and is so creative, I can't wait to see how she transforms her new home.
I'm so glad we are all along for the ride.  Thanks so much for having me, Cassie.

Love how they went ALL OUT on the kitchen and saved a few bucks in the baths. Real world stuff. We all make choices on where to spend the bucks. Loved the before and after shots. Thanks

Those are gorgeous room makeovers, but I actually said "oh wow!!!" out loud on the kitchen/dining room flip flop. I have never seen that done before!!! I LOVE that tub too. Great work! Thanks for sharing, and if your husband decides to give up his day job, he can probably fill in for Vanna White once in a while ;)
