See those chairs with that table? Well only the green chair stayed, and I made over two of our old playroom chairs to go in his room. Here they are in the old playroom at our old house....
Anyhow, I had red high gloss oil based paint left over from my gold leafed nightstands, and I knew that would be perfect in his room. I sanded them down, and gave them 4 coats of the red paint, allowing 24 hours to dry between coats. Oil based paint is not great for the impatient painter, but it gives the most durable finish- perfect for a 6 year old boy! Here they are now....
That is much better for his room! He and Emmy love to sit here and color together. Sawyer wants me to paint the green chair "all green". He doesn't like the chippy look which makes me love the green chair even more. So I will tell you what I told him- "We'll see."
I am sharing here:

Thanks for hosting Cassie! Hope you have a great day, Dee
I love those chairs for your children. They are just beautiful. Thank you for hosting. Megan
june always tells me i missed spots if i go for the chippy look. love the red and thanks for hosting.
Shazam! I am bowing down to your "patient" painting skills, girl! I have still not reached the "patient painter" level, Sensei, but will work hard to attain nirvana so that I, too, can walk among the painting gods as with you.
Ohm.
thanks for hosting Cassie!
I personally love that chippy green chair! :)
wondering... did you lead test it?
have a great day!

Ugg...four coats over 4 days! Lots of work. But you are correct, they will be close to indestructible. Have a great linky party! As you know... I got nothing for ya!
Cassie - It cracks me up that Sawyer wanted you to make it all green. It sounds like something my husband would say! He just doesn't understand the aged/vintage look and it cracks me up!
I wouldn't want to ever leave that room if I was Sawyer. The fact that he gave his own design just means you have been teaching him well and that he has been listening! :)
Love those chairs, I want to come color with them, I love coloring! The chippy green chair does look fabulous but I can see a boy not digging that look so much. Excited to see the rest of the room! I am off to spray paint, hope I don't get blown away by this wind!

Cute, cute dress! I love the red chairs, too. But painting that green one? I'm glad you said "We'll see".
I love the chippy, too. The high gloss red is pretty hot as well. Thanks for hosting.
AWESOME!!!!!! I definitely consider myself to be an impatient painter!! Ha ha. You rock at painting. I mean, I know that isn't new news, but I just had to say it again. xo
Your house is coming together so nicely!
Thanks for hosting again!
Cute table and chairs, perfect.
I also did a kids set, makes them happy!
Love the glossy red chairs! And Sawyer is too funny with the "all green" comment. He and my mother-in-law would get along great. She doesn't like chippy either. And believe me, she lets me know that on a regular basis! ... Looking forward to more of Sawyer's room, especially the red chevron fabric!
Love the red glossy chairs! I haven't painted anything glossy yet. I love the look of it. Sawyer's room is looking great!
The chairs look super cute!
Wow! What awesome link ups this week. I've got to bookmark this and come back tomorrow so I can check 'em all out!!
Haha! Sawyer is a hoot! Love the high gloss red! And I can't believe you have done over 80 POWW's!! So cool!!
Oh, I love that Sawyer has an opinion about how he likes his furniture to look :) The chairs came out great and I'm looking forward to the full reveal.
I love the alcove! What a great way to use that space. I also like the gray with red and green. I redid my sons room with red, gray and black last year. Great job!
Thanks for hosting the party :)

Cassie, you've got another great party going on!
I just love the mix of old and modern, those chairs look awesome!!
I wonder if our kids will adopt our sense of syle when they're all grown up? I hope so...I definitely didn't get my parents!! (sorry...just a random thought that came in from looking at your pics :))
Thanks for hosting again Cassie!!
I love this! I'm so into industrial! Looks adorable! Loving the colors! Have a fabulous day!
Cassie thank so much for hosting party!
Love the furniture for the kiddos! It makes we want to color! Thanks for the party!
Thank you very much! I'm really digging that "Play" sign on the wall! I think I may need one of those.
Thanks so much for hosting!
Hugs,
Suzan
As always - love your party - but I had to comment on your 'We'll see'. This was my answer to everything (too often it would seem!) until my daughter started using it on me... she tells me 'we'll see' about everything!! Her most recent was after asking if Santa will be coming with the easter bunny. I said no, Santa comes at Christmas, in December. And what was her answer? 'mmmm we'll see'!
Hope you're having a great week!
I actually have two posts to share! Thanks for hosting!
Thanks for hosting and letting me share what I LOVE to do!
Make it a great day!
