It's A Virtual Baby Shower! I Am Bringing a Handmade Gift!

Last week I had the fabulous and funny, sweet and adorable, Kelly from View Along the Way as my guest.  Well, if you read it then you know that she is about to have a baby girl, her second child, but first girl!  When Erin from His and Hers asked me to participate in a surprise virtual shower, I couldn't say yes fast enough.  I love Kelly, and I love babies.  Here is the invitation designed by Skye from Nethering Our Fest, which was inspired by fabric Kelly has selected for her nursery....

If you hop over to Erin's you will be able to see a full list of guests and head to their blogs to see what they are bringing.  There will be snacks, decorations, beverages, games, and more!

As I mentioned in my title, I am bringing a handmade baby gift, and once Kelly knows about this shower, I am going to actually mail her this little gifty.  I originally saw this idea at Winder and Main and just loved it.  Here is Meg's adorable Peter Rabbit Frame...

I had a vintage children's book about animals that I knew would be perfect for this project.  I headed to the craft store and purchased some frames.

Check it out... the original price tag! ;)  You can't make it out but it was $3.99.

I found a page that I thought was adorable, colorful and had a little pink in it.  I traced the frame and cut it out.  I then used matte Mod Podge to adhere and protect.  And here it is!  If I had known the baby's name I would have added a monogram inside the frame, but I guess Kelly can do that once she names the baby girl.

Here you can see the pretty pops of pink....
Isn't that paper so sweet?  Thanks, Meg, for a fabulous idea!

Erin, thank you so much for hosting this lovely shower!
Kelly, wishing you a healthy, happy, delivery, and wishing you many nights of good sleep before then. :)  All my love, friend!

This is such a great idea - and one I feel confident I could accomplish! I'm going to the used bookstore to look for a copy of "I Am A Bunny" - I've always thought the illustrations would make great prints to hang on the wall, and a frame would be even better!

What a great idea! I am definitely making one (or more!) of these for a baby shower I am going to in May.

Other subject: yesterday and today I have not been able to get the links on "How Do I" series to work? And, any chance of a "How Do I Paint" addition? Curious to see what your tips are.

Thank you for all the inspiration!
