Friday Guest: Shannon from Fox Hollow Cottage

Happy Friday!  I am currently at Haven attending some awesome classes, but I have a fabulous guest for you today!
She stole my line though.  I was going to write about the first time we met with my aqua sideboard, but she will tell you that story in a minute.  What I can tell you is that Shannon is funny.  Shannon is cheerful.  Shannon is encouraging.  Shannon is talented.  Shannon is creative.  And Shannon is a real gem.  Today's guest, Shannon from Fox Hollow Cottage, is here to share her amazing home tour with is!  You are going to love it!  If you haven't yet visited her blog, you will want to after today.  Take it away, Shannon!

Hello P&P readers!
I'm Shannon from

I'll never forget the moment I met Cassie...

It was fate.
That first picture drew me in...
The pretty lines and that luscious color.
I tired to pry her address out of her.
(You know, for a recon mission!)
She was far to smart to fall for that though ;)

Cassie is just so sweet and talented.
Another one of the lovely people I have met since I began blogging. Today, I'm here to help out a bit and I'll be sharing our home with you.

My family and I live on the
Oregon Coast in a 1920's cottage style bungalow.

It's not a big, grand home... in fact, we down sized a lot when we bought it. We have really come to love it, and the smaller cottage house (my mother in law lives in that one) that came with it. Both were sadly neglected and we have put a lot of time, hard work, love... (oh, and money too!) into making them homes.

I'll start the tour here, on the main floor, in the kitchen.

We have a light, bright kitchen which is perfect for those gloomy, rainy days we get here in the Pacific Northwest.
A few of my favorite things in this room are the crank style windows and the vaulted ceiling. Except that I need to paint the ceiling, that part, I don't like so much!

Recently, I lost my doors on a few cabinets.
And I really love the results!
I can't imagine finding them anytime soon.

Right off of the kitchen, you'll take a step down into our sun room.

I like to decorate with whatever strikes my fancy.  Like this cruddy old door knob.

One of my favorite things.

On the main floor, you'll also find our living room.

Now, this room is always moving!
Admittedly, I have changed out the pillows, lamps and accessories since these pictures were taken after the holidays back in January.

I am constantly changing things up in here, more then any other room in the house!

We have one full bath on the main floor of our home.

It was a chore to makeover on such a
 non existent small budget.

Two words;
White. Paint.

And a half bath on the lower floor.
I told you... we down-sized!!
From three huge, full baths
to one and a half.

Now this one... this one is Ugh-Ly!!

We also have 2 bedrooms on
the main floor.

One is my craft and home decor storage.

The other, is Austin's room.
(which you will not be seeing as he has expressed he doesn't wish to share it.)

Back downstairs... you'll find the master bedroom.

I shared this recently when I did a seasonal refresher and spruce-up for Spring!

Like I said, I love moving things about!!
These are the fun colors I used for my
latest bathroom do-over.
A makeover, makeover ;)

A Zingy Bathroom Refresher!

That's the great thing about decorating with neutral back drops...
You can change things up on a whim.

I seem to get lots of "whims"?

I hope you enjoyed my little tour.
I had a great time visiting at
Primitive and Proper today.

Thanks Cassie, for having me!!

Thanks so much girls for all the sweet words =) Watch out, or you are going to spoil me! Cassie is a big doll face so it's easy to help her out. Too bad we don't all live closer we could trade stuff. Now THAT would be fun.
