Happy Friday! I hope you have all had a great week! We have been getting back into the swing of things here. Emmy attended gymnastics camp this week, and loved it! Sawyer attended a UK elite soccer camp, and took away some new skills. We also had some fun at the Middletown carnival this week! The weather has been so fabulous, that it is making me sort of lazy..... I sit out on the porch and read, or blog out here. I haven't worked on anything really this week, but I have enjoyed myself.
Anyhow, today I have a awesome guest, Becca of From Gardners to Bergers. Aside from having a gorgeous DIY home, Becca has got to be one of the most sincerely nice and most encouraging bloggers out there. She is always there with something positive to say and I am so glad I have had the chance to get to know her! Here are some snippets from her home tour that I adore.
Her entry was I believe what first drew me to her blog....

And I adore this guest room!
Becca has a fabulous restoration hardware-esque style in a normal person's budget! You will (if you don't already!) adore her! Take it away, Becca!
Hi there, Primitive and Proper readers! I was totally thrilled when Cassie invited me to chat with you guys today! Like crazy, jump up and down, stoked!
Let me introduce myself! My name is Becca and I blog over at From Gardners 2 Bergers. I know what you're thinking, "Hey, that is a really AWESOME name for a DIY blog." I know right, maiden name to married name.
Anywho- I am a big fan of the DIY! Like I see something I could make it myself and I'm like, "Why would I ever pay $600 for prints I can create on my own?!?" I mean seriously, why do we get pick-pocketed for products that, though may look amazing, simply cost too much. Which obviously means my blog has a TON of DIY projects- including quite a few knock off tutorials, some furniture makeovers, and a few crafty crafts.

Here's my latest dish, I found this vintage, metal index card box the other day while garage sal-ing. It cost me three beans and I had actually been on the lookout for this very item! So I snatched up my sweet score without even an attempt at bartering for this sweet treasure. I thanked my lucky stars it was so cheap. I've seen them on Etsy and Ebay, but for nothing less than $15.
I've wanted one to put my recipes in for ages and, now that I have one, I can walk towards the light with a sense of accomplishment. Like I came, I saw, I conquered- my work here is done, you know?
Not too fast. What. About. The. Recipes? Instead of using old magazine tear-outs or scratch paper, I made my own recipe cards. Instead of buying something let's DIY it! For these, I used some vintage-y styled freeware graphics so the new cards would have a retro feel to go along with the retro filing drawer.
You gals are welcome to grab your own, if you want to. Just drag the recipe card onto your desktop and you can print your own. Google Docs and I are currently not on speaking terms, as it keeps distorting my images- even the pdfs. So whatever! Oh yeah, and printing them on cardstock is a good idea for stability and durability.
I know that was a super easy project, but you know what's not super easy? Copying all my old recipes onto my new cards! Dope!
I don't do a ton of kitchen projects, but coincidentally, last week I made my own vanilla extract. Of course I made my own printable for that, too. You are welcome to grab that one here!

Becca is so creative. Love the recipe card idea, but my favorite of hers still is that amazing map print. I cannot wait until I have time to try this out. Your week sounds so nice. It was so HOT here, I felt like a snail. I did have to kick it into gear and produce a few things, but next week is my slowww down week. Happy weekend! -K
