Taking the Week Off

Happy Monday!  Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!  Mine was BUSY.  I worked Friday and Saturday at the barn sale, and by the end of the day Saturday my feet were completely white and in pain.  I have Raynaud's syndrome, so in cold weather I lose blood flow very easily to my fingers and toes.  It was so cold in the barn and just more than I could stand because of it.  I was supposed to go to a Pampered Chef party that evening, but I bailed so I could come home and lay under warm blankets.  The kids were at my parents, Chris was at a friends watching a game, and the house was mine.... Bed sounded too good!
Yesterday, I spent the day at basket bingo to benefit my neighbors (If you haven't read about them yet, their house burnt down and they lost two of their 4 little girls to the fire.).  Thanks to so many amazing donations, the bingo was looong, with tons of prizes, door prizes, and about 50 raffles as well.  I did not win anything at all, but I was happy to support the cause.  The bingo event raised $15,000 for the Lillard family relief fund, so it was worth every dime I spent.

Chris is off this week, and I am feeling the need to just get some Spring cleaning done.  When I sit down to try to write a post, I feel like this....

tired, overwhelmed, and ready to crash.  So I am listening to my body, and taking the week off from blogging.

Oh, and on a side note, do you see all of that ugliness in the background.... soon it will be no more.  Not sure when exactly, but soon....

See you next week!  Maybe by next week it will start to feel like Spring around here.

Cassie,

Get some rest, warm up, and come back rejuvenated! I also have Raynaud's and know that when you find yourself in the wrong type of situation, there's very little you can do; in the winter I carry "hand warmer" packets in my purse / pocket, just in case ... they don't prevent an attack but they can get the circulation moving quicker. Take good care. Robin

You look kinda pitiful--do you want me to come take care of you? I make a mean chicken soup!

Rest up, Cassie! You deserve it. I've been thinking about the Lillard Family a lot lately. You have such a wonderful community! I'm sure they are receiving so much support.

Good for you Cassie! My hubby and I were just talking about how important it is for me to remember to take care of myself and our home. I think that since I work at home painting furniture, I often feel guilty if I'm not painting or blogging about it. I hope you get a lot accomplished this week - even if the biggest thing you accomplish is getting a lot of rest!

Cassie, when Barnara Barry spoke at the Design Blogers conference whe swept me away. One of the passages she read from her book had to do with the dance we do when we write...or paint or work on something creative. Makes the coffee, weed the garden, clean the sock drawer, putter around...all things which could be misinterpreted as "procrastination" but really are actually PART of the process, these seemingly meaningless actions lead you to inspiration. Inspiration does not come from staring at a screen. It comes from living. Just live your life and then the blogging will be an extension of that and the breaks will not even need to be explained....enjoy some Spring!!!

Enjoy your week off! I think I have looked exactly like your picture before and you are so smart to listen to your body! Thanks for your sweet comment on my animal print chair, too, btw. I cannot believe that about your neighbors...how awful...is there somewhere where I can donate? We lost our house in a fire growing up...literally had nothing, but thank God we all made it out alive. My heart breaks reading about others who do not have the same outcome. I would love to help. ;) Jesse @ Scout & Nimble
