Yesterday my family took our family photos with the talented and gorgeous Eddie of Jalapeno Photography. Even though it was 87 degrees outside we donned our wool and flannel for the sake of great family photos! The kids were so well behaved, and all I know is that my family really loves me to stand in the heat in Fall clothes for a photo shoot! :) I can't wait to see how they turned out and I will of course share with you!
So today kicks off the Pumpkin parade!!!

Today you can find fun pumpkin projects here, Shift Ctrl Art, and Decor and the Dog.
I am sharing a relatively easy project involving some of my favorite products, paint and golding wax! I started with these mini pumpkins/gourds I found at the grocery store....
I used an old brush and with a heavy hand applied white paint to the top halves of some of my pumpkins (I wanted to keep some natural), so that the paint would drip.
I allowed that to dry and then I used gilding wax in King gold (similar to rub b buff) and applied it with my finger to the stems of my dipped pumpkins. Here they are after they were completed....
And here they are gracing my dining room table, which is all set for Halloween!
I just love that touch of gold!
Here's a better view into the dining room with its new centerpiece....
Oh, and perhaps you noticed the new guy in the corner? That would be the fiddle leaf fig I bought from Ikea and am hoping will survive my plant care skills. (very beginner level). His name is Phinneas, and he's so cute! I have even watered him a couple times.
Hope you enjoyed my super easy dipped and gilded pumpkins!

Cute! (Not as cute as Paul Rudd, though.) Maybe someday I'll get invited to party.
ReplyDeleteThose silver skulls are amazing!!
ReplyDelete:)
The pumpkins look awesome, you know I'm all for the gold touch. I can't believe that they had a fiddle leaf at your Ikea, say what?
ReplyDelete(I'm up on Wednesday for the pumpkin. You scared me a little cause I didn't even start yet :(
i like the drippies on your pumpkins and I like that your family cooperated with the pics! Can't wait to see them.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness this is awesome. I love the dripping effect and the gilded stems. I love that your pumpkins have such long stems on them too. Your display is so wonderful!
ReplyDeleteLove these! I just painted some faux pumpkins with a touch of gold, but I like your dipped look a lot! And, you know I love a fiddle leaf fig. Yours is looking good :)
ReplyDeleteLOVE the pumpkins (the way the white paint drips down is so cool)and the entire dining room centerpiece. Those candlesticks are fantastic. Good luck w/ the fiddle leaf! We've had one (from Home Depot) for a while and it has grown really, really fast with minimal care. I have it in my dining room window (it never gets direct light) and I just water it like once a week. So far so good!

Cute! And I love the touch of gold! ... Can't wait to see the family photos! It sure was a gorgeous day yesterday!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! They remind me of little tiny bundt cakes…..do I have a problem with sweets or what?? :)
ReplyDeleteThese are too cute! I always pick up those tiny pumpkins, they are too cute. And the gilded stems are just too fun!
ReplyDeleteAlso, your dining room is purely dreamy, as always.
Adorable! They fit perfectly in your dining room. Which I am madly in love with.
ReplyDeletePhinneas...love him. Our fiddle leaf fig is named Fergus...I think they'd be fast friends.
ReplyDeleteAnd your pumpkins...well, I love them. The white and gold is perfect (of course) and they look great on your table. And yes, our projects are quite similar. :)
The "touch" of gold ....perfection!
ReplyDeleteYour pumpkins look beautiful. :)
ReplyDeleteLove the dipped pumpkins Cassie! I named our fiddle Fran- i decided she needed to be a girl. I also named our snake plane Slither! Anyway enough about the plants. Ummm yeah I kinda have a major crush on your wood tray. Did u make that? Also, the skulls are awesome!
ReplyDeletei like the touch of gold you added to these beauts..now i need to think of something fun for my pumpkin project!
ReplyDeleteThose are adorable! Very cute idea. And I love the sparkly skulls too. :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty centerpiece, Cassie!
ReplyDeleteLove those dipped pumpkins, and of course, the gooooold. Good luck with your Phinneaus, my plant died. Quickly. The only advice I can give is a well draining pot. I didn't have one. Hence the plant death. XO
ReplyDeleteSO FUN! I love the gold stems. You always have the most fun fall projects!
ReplyDeleteCUTE! I want to eat at your table!
ReplyDeleteLoving this! The touch of gold is perfect. Good luck with your fiddle leaf fig! You can do it ;)
ReplyDeleteI love what your pumpkins are sitting on! Is that a project from Lisa?

ReplyDeleteSo cute! x
ReplyDeletelove those pumpkins! i can't get enough of your dining room - and those chairs - dreamy
ReplyDeleteI like the white drips myself but imagine white pumpkins with red "blood" drips! a creepy version perfect for a spooky Halloween table.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty Cassie! Your dining room looks gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThe pumpkins are fun Cassie. Love the touch of gold. I agree with Carmel...your dining room looks beautiful!

Those gilded stems rock. And I love the platform they are on on the table. Also, I also have an IKEA fiddle leaf. It's been about 6 months and growing like a weed! Mine loves a lot of sun (next to a bright window) and not a lot of water. Yours looks great!
ReplyDeleteI love the center piece such a great fall/Halloween statement! Letting the white paint drip was a good call. I wish I would have used gilding wax on my stems seems like it,s easier and cover better than paint!
ReplyDeleteYour centerpiece is beautiful. I'm on board with everyone else, love the dripping white, imperfect perfection. Love that gold color of the gilding wax. Where do you get that?
ReplyDeleteVery cute!!
ReplyDeleteyour display in your dining room is pretty Cassie and those pumpkins I love what you did with them (+ the touch of gold) ;-)
ReplyDelete& whou hou! glad you found a fiddle leaf fig at IKEA too! :-) mine ended up in my dining room too :-)
I am SO not a holiday decorator. I rarely even change things out from summer to winter. I'm not a crafter, so that's part of it, but I think I'm also just too lazy! I do like your drippy pumpkins with the gold stems, though. Simple, but chic. That's my kind of holiday decorating.
ReplyDeleteThese are incredible! I like that they can span the Halloween - Thanksgiving season!
